Tunable Self-Assembling Organic-Inorganic Quantum Wells
May 16, 2019
Films deposited by resonant-infrared matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation (RIR-MAPLE) enable transient absorption spectroscopy measurements on oligothiophene-based lead halide perovskites, providing a critical window into excited state dynamics and validating hybrid density functional theory predictions of quantum well alignment between the various inorganic/organic moieties.
Scientific Achievement
We show uniquely versatile excited-state behavior in complex hybrid perovskite quantum-well systems, prepared using resonant-infrared matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation.
Significance and Impact
The work demonstrates a new paradigm of combining theoretical modeling, organic synthesis, RIR-MAPLE, and spectroscopy in the rational design and tuning of complex hybrid perovskites.
